On September 1, senior students of the Yaroslavl State Medical University were acquainted with the opportunities to apply the acquired knowledge and skills in practice, choosing for themselves a job in the field of state control in the healthcare sector that is currently in demand. Victor Dmitriev, Chairman of the Public Council under the Federal service for Surveillance in Healthcare (Roszdravnadzor), General Director of the Association of Russian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, told them about this at an open lesson. Congratulating the students on the Day of Knowledge and noting that future doctors, pharmacists, hygienists should constantly deepen their theoretical knowledge and improve their practical skills in order to subsequently apply them in their professional activities, he emphasized that the domestic healthcare system and control in this area needs talented, energetic, competent young professionals.
The Federal Service of Roszdravnadzor conducts its control and supervision activities in three main areas: quality control of medical care to the population, control over the circulation of medicines and circulation of medical devices, for which the principle of patient orientation is common. The entire healthcare system is aimed at ensuring that, in accordance with the Constitution of the Russian Federation, every citizen, regardless of place of residence, receives the full range of medical services he needs, including early diagnosis, treatment in accordance with standards, and drug provision. The tasks of Roszdravnadzor include control over compliance with licensing requirements for conducting medical and pharmaceutical activities, including the production of biomedical cell products, over the circulation of narcotic and psychotropic drugs and their precursors, over the circulation, operation and maintenance of medical devices, attestation of experts involved in carrying out activities in the field of healthcare and more.
Today, the issues of high-quality medical diagnostics based on survey data using medical equipment and laboratory tests, distance selling medicines, including prescription drugs, the reliability of information provided by the drug monitoring system, the functioning of insurance medicine, international clinical research. This opens up great opportunities for current graduates of medical universities, giving them the right to a professional choice that will not only meet the needs of modern society, but also allow them to do what they love, developing and improving domestic medical science, helping people, saving their health.
