Russia and Uzbekistan actively continue to expand and deepen cooperation. By the end of 2023, Uzbek-Russian trade turnover amounted to $10 billion. Issues of cooperation in the field of healthcare occupy an important part in the relations between the two countries. From July 15 to 17, the Chairman of the Commission on Healthcare of Russian-Uzbek Business Council (RUBC), Chairman of the Public Council under the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare (Roszdravnadzor) Victor Dmitriev paid a working visit to Tashkent.
During the trip, he held a meeting with the honorary representative of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Uzbekistan, Alexander Pak, the purpose of which was to identify promising areas of cooperation in this area, promote new initiatives in the field of expanding the supply channels of Russian drugs and medical products to the Republic of Uzbekistan. This topic was also raised at a meeting with distributors operating in the Uzbek pharmaceutical market. «Today, the protracted registration procedure forces Russian manufacturers to consider the Uzbek market not as a priority. Although the demand for Russian drugs, both according to representatives of the Ministry of Health of the Republic and according to representatives of the distribution link, is high. I hope that these regulatory issues are temporary, and soon we will be able to satisfy all the requests of residents of Uzbekistan for drugs,» Dmitriev noted.
Later, he became acquainted with the work of a plant in Jizzakh, specializing in the production of disposable syringes, and highly praised the volume of production, the level of material and technical equipment of the enterprise, and the professionalism of the staff.
