Last weekend, along with all current graduates, students of Luhansk Medical University named after St. Luke and Donetsk Medical University named after Maxim Gorky received their diplomas. In a solemn atmosphere, with excitement and trembling in their hearts, today’s students received their long-awaited and well-deserved diplomas and now rightfully took their place in the medical ranks.

The solemn moment was shared with the graduates by the Chairman of the Public Council under the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare (Roszdravnadzor), General Director of ARPM Victor Dmitriev. Addressing the graduates, he said: «You have 6 difficult years behind you, and today I can rightfully call you colleagues. You have chosen one of the most noble professions — the profession of a doctor, whose mission is to always and everywhere help people, save the lives and health of patients. You are joining a close-knit cohort of «people in white coats», clinics, hospitals, maternity hospitals are waiting for you. And this is not only a great honor and trust, but also a huge responsibility. I wish you to carry love for the profession throughout your life, not to be disappointed in your choice, to achieve heights and success in this field, so that it not only warm your souls, but most importantly — benefits your patients.»

This year’s graduation is unique in that during their studies, the students faced COVID restrictions, distance learning, which is uncharacteristic and difficult for such a socially oriented field as medicine, and some of the Novorossiya students have already managed to gain not only professional, but also combat experience in the Special Military Operation. Unfortunately, among them there are those who forever remained on the battlefield. Eternal memory to our heroes.
