From March 6 to 9, a working visit was made by the Chairman of the Commission on Healthcare of Russian-Uzbek Business Council (RUBC), Chairman of the Public Council under the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare (Roszdravnadzor), Victor Dmitriev to Uzbekistan.

During a meeting at the Ministry of Health of the Republic with the Head of the Department for Regulation of the Pharmaceutical Sector and Determination of Needs in Medicines Alisher Temirov, the parties discussed current issues of end-to-end labeling of medicines and medical devices and the specifics of monitoring the movement of medicines imported from the Russian Federation to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Traditionally, there is close cooperation between the two countries in the field of medical and pharmaceutical education. These points were reflected at a meeting with the rector of the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute (TPI) Kamal Rizayev. In particular, it was noted that the institute concluded an agreement with the St. Petersburg State Chemical-Pharmaceutical University, and areas of cooperation with the Perm State Pharmaceutical Academy are being discussed. Such experience of open cooperation contributes to mutual participation in congresses and conferences, as well as the training of qualified medical and pharmaceutical personnel. Victor Dmitriev also invited three TPI students to take part in the Pharmaceutical International Innovation Camp (FILIN), a week-long educational program on the production and circulation of medicines, as well as the search for innovations in this area.

Taking into account the long-standing cooperation between our countries in the field of healthcare, the need for an agreement on mutual recognition of the results of clinical trials in order to provide the population of the two countries with high-quality, effective and affordable drugs was emphasized.

Paying tribute to the hospitality of Uzbek colleagues, the head of the RUBC Commission on Healthcare emphasized that the definition of priorities for the development of national health systems, taking into account the organization and implementation of joint scientific projects, the exchange of best practices in the field of implementing health personnel policies and the use of modern medical technologies, preventive work with the population taking into account the prevalence of risk factors for non-communicable diseases, the achievements of Russian and Uzbek companies in the joint manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and medical products, is a continuation of the good traditions of friendship and mutual assistance between Russia and Uzbekistan.
